Black Neon

In this “bizarre, surreal” (Le Monde) sequel to Sick City, Randal and Jeffrey are hired by degenerate arthouse director Jaques Seltzer, to help him realize his dream project, the enigmatic movie Black Neon. However, they soon find themselves on a collision course with star-crossed lovers Lupita and Genesis, who are on the run after wasting a drug dealer, with his stash and a suitcase full of dirty money. Along the way there are encounters with a Santaria High Priestess, an infamous author on an alcoholic downward spiral, and Kenny Azura, the amoral Hollywood producer who “makes Patrick Bateman look like a pussycat” (Litterature Hardcore.) Black Neon is a modern day absurdist noir tale, which thrusts the antiheroes of Sick City into a side of America darker and weirder than either of them have ever encountered.

“BLACK NEON is a pitch black classic slice of neo-noir, where black magic, art house cinema, drug-fuelled madness and apocalyptic violence collide with dizzying effect. I fell in love with every page.” — Irvine Welsh
